California Department of Public Health Water Quality Analyses Database Files

More than 7,500 public water systems, with more than 16,000 active sources, that deliver drinking water to Californians are required by state law and regulation to be regularly tested by accredited laboratories for various contaminants; the test results are reported to the Public Health Department.  More than 25,000,000 water quality records are listed in the four data files (Chemical.zip, Chemhist.zip, Chemarch.zip, and Chemxarc.zip), which represents all information available and can be downloaded at
the Drinking Water EDT library; another 1,200,000 records are reported annually by the accredited laboratory representatives.
