Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Quality and Accountability Program
The State has developed a new Quality and Accountability Program for Skilled Nursing Facilities. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is partnering with California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to implement this new program. CDPH’s Center for Health Care Quality is assessing and scoring facility quality of care so that DHCS can use these scores to issue incentive payments.
New Measure Development
The Quality and Accountability Program is moving forward in establishing new measure selection criteria and evaluating potential new quality measures. The below documents are part of that effort.

Resident Satisfaction Survey Implementation
The Quality and Accountability Program is implementing a Satisfaction Survey using nationally endorsed questionnaires to discharged residents and family members of current residents. Existing Quality Measures
The Quality and Accountability Program has examined and analyzed the use of MDS data and existing quality measures. Ongoing analysis of quality measures is an integral part of the program and the below documents are part of that effort.
