The mission of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Office of Compliance-Civil Rights (OOC-Civil Rights), is to administer CDPH’s equal employment opportunity and civil rights programs to ensure that the Department is in compliance with state and federal civil rights laws and maintains fair and equitable policies and procedures that will result in a work environment free of discrimination.
CDPH Director's Disabilities Advisory Committee
The California Department of Public Health, Disabilities Advisory Committee (DAC) advises the Director on matters pertaining to equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodation issues for department employees with disabilities. In coordination with the OOC-Civil Rights, DAC collaborates with the Department employees to ensure and enable staff with disabilities have opportunities to use their abilities in their work environment.
Our Director shares the goals and concerns of the employees with disabilities and those affected by disabilities. The CDPH DAC, along with the Department’s OOC-Civil Rights, works with the Director on many important disabilities related issues. Through this collaborative effort , many disabled employees are able to offer their talents and expertise to the State of California.
