Network Local Project Request for Application 2013

On July 16, 2012, the Network for a Healthy California (Network) released the Network Local Project (NLP) Request for Application (RFA) 2013 to identify organizations to implement innovative nutrition education and obesity prevention projects with the overarching goal of preventing obesity and other diet-related chronic diseases in low-income individuals.  Contracts with successful applicants will begin on October 1, 2012.

Goals of the Funding:

To implement nutrition education and obesity prevention projects by employing the following three strategic priorities:

  1. Increase access and consumption of healthy foods
  2. Decrease consumption of less healthy foods and beverages and increase water consumption
  3. Increase daily physical activity opportunities

Awardees must work with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (known in California as CalFresh) eligible participants and other Californians who are potentially eligible for SNAP (have incomes at or below 185 percent of the Federal Poverty Level).
