Partnerships
Low-income California families face rising rates of obesity, sedentary lifestyle, food insecurity, and hunger that sometimes contribute to preventable health problems. The Network for a Healthy California (Network) brings organizations to address a common goal and mission. That mission is to create innovative relationships that empower low-income Californians to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity, and food security, with the goal of preventing obesity and other diet-related chronic diseases. Collaboration at the state, regional and local levels is vital for the Network in efforts to reach individuals, families, and entire low-income communities to maximize the impact of nutrition education through California’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
The Network Partnerships work collaboratively to promote integrated, cross-cutting programs. Innovative partnerships support the Network in a joint effort to widen the SNAP-Ed and CalFresh reach and to increase program effectiveness, empowering low-income Californian’s to make healthy food and physical activity choices.
