Physical Activity Program
The Network for a Healthy California’s (Network) Physical Activity Program is under the California Department of Public Health’s Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention (NEOP) Branch, and administered by the Public Health Institute. This Program consists of two Physical Activity (PA) Program Managers at the State, as well as two highly qualified PA Program Coordinators, one located in the North Coast/Sierra Cascade and the other one in the San Francisco Bay Area. These Coordinators will assist the Local Health Departments (LHD) regionally and statewide. The objective of the four PA Team members is to support LHDs in meeting their grant deliverables. Specifically, our mission is to increase the percent of SNAP-eligible Californians who meet the national PA guidelines.
Our team can help you with the following:
Guidance on culturally appropriate PA resources, messaging and trainings
Expertise regarding policy, systems, and environmental change strategies
