Welcome to the State of California

Nurses Using Rural Sentinel Events (NURSE) Project Reports

NURSE was an occupational agricultural surveillance project that focused on agricultural injury and illness prevention in the California communities of Fresno and Monterey counties. The NURSE Project was funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and conducted from 1991 to 1996.

The NURSE Reports are based on the NURSE Project's review of actual injuries that occurred. Each incident was investigated and the results are presented in these reports, which offer agricultural occupational health and safety recommendations. They are intended to help avoid similar accidents in the future.
