Autopopulated Web Pages - Demonstration

This page provides links to web pages that demonstrate the use of metadata to automatically populate "query" web pages. The query web pages contain links to documents on the CDPH Website and are refreshed each time a visitor accesses the query page.

When CDPH Web Contributors upload documents to the web authoring site they are required to fill out metadata fields such as "Organization" and "Language." The Organization field is set to the appropriate CDPH program posting the document (over 300 possible Organizations). The Language field is set to the appropriate language for the document, "Spanish" being the most common language.

Upon access, query web pages search the Website and automatically display links to documents matching the specified metadata. Query web pages can also be created to display links to web pages that match the query criteria.

Examples of query web pages currently in use on the CDPH Website are the Spanish-language pages (these pages receive several thousand visitors per month):

Su salud en su idioma
(The Lo último en noticias section of this page is automatically populated by the four latest CDPH Press Releases in Spanish)

Documentos en Espanol
(All documents on the Website where the Language metadata field is set to "Spanish")

Paginas en Espanol
(All web pages on the Website where the Language metadata field is set to "Spanish")

Demonstration query web pages  - These pages are not published (live), and are for demonstration purposes only:

Home All Sites Query by Language and Title
(This page uses the Language metadata field to display links to all documents on the Website by Language. The page is sorted first by Language and then by Document Title)

Home and all subsites - Documents by Organization (A-M) and Title and Home and all subsites - Documents by Organization (N-Z) and Title (These pages use the Organization metadata field to display links to all documents on the Website. The pages are sorted first by Organization and then by Document Title.  Due to current size constraints in SharePoint 2007 on query web pages, the display is limited to 14,500 links, therefore two pages are used for this demonstration A-M and N-Z (again, due to size constraints, the N-Z does not display all organizations))

Publications and Forms - Documents by Organization and Title
(This page shows only documents in the Publications and Forms subsite. The page is sorted by Organization and then by Document Title.)
