The Occupational Pesticide Illness Prevention Program (OPIPP) identifies the kinds of jobs and types of pesticides that cause health problems in workers.

Information gathered by the program is sent to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which use this information to shape pesticide policy to prevent future pesticide illness.  This program is part of the Sentinel Event Notification System for Occupational Risk (SENSOR), funded by NIOSH.

Resources to prevent illness from pesticide drift

Many California workplaces are next to agricultural areas and workers can become ill when pesticides drift after being applied incorrectly. A fact sheet helps workplaces plan ahead and know who to contact to report drift. The companion poster reinforces illness prevention tips and provides an easy way to post the reporting contact information.
