What āāāWe Do
OSH develops and disseminates scientific guidance, resources, and template school health policies, in collaboration with subject-matter experts across CDPH, among State and local education and health officials to advance the well-being and public-health interests of California schoolsā students and staff. These resources cover topics including substance use, school ventilation/indoor air quality, behavioral health, and communicable-disease mitigation. OSH also provides technical assistance on guidance, resources, and health-communication tools in support of their school communities.
OSH supports school-based health and wellness centers, in partnership with California School-based Health Alliance (CSHA), other State agencies, and local interest-holders. OSH encourages the establishment and expansion of school and local health programs that provide services directly to students and school communities. OSH also supports and facilitates school-based behavioral health prevention programs.
OSH developsā and maintains platforms that coordinate a school-health-focused community built with local interest-holders who implement guidance and stay up to date on the latest trends. OSH maintains a school hub that curates and convenes school health resources for ease of access and hosts biweekly School Health Webinars to showcase local efforts and keep the community informed of new information, tools, and programs that support student health and well-being.
