Industrial Radiography: Field and Shielded Room Radiography

The Radiologic Health Branch conducts inspections of X-Ray machines used in field radiography on average every 3 years and those used in a shielded room for non-human use on average every 4.25 years.

The terms Field Radiography and Shielded-Room Radiography are defined in Title 17, California Code of Regulations, Section 30330.

General Requirements

Staff must be provided any emergency safety procedures related to the X-Ray machines the utilize.
The entity shall assure that all persons under his or her jurisdiction that are operating or supervising the operation of X-ray equipment are adequately trained and competent in the safe use of the equipment.
