Facility Licensingā
The Facilityā Licensing Section is responsible for the review of clinical and public health laboratory applications and proficiency test results to ensure mandated standards are met. A testing site performing tests on California specimens must apply for a clinical laboratory license or registration. The section is also responsible for licensure and oversight of tissue banks, biologics production facilities, and blood banks. A facility verifies donors, collects, processes, distributes products derived from human tissue or blood in California, or does business in California, the facility must have a California license.
