The California Department of Public Health-Vital Records (CDPH-VR) is pleased to announce an update to EBRS 1.0 with EBRS 2.0. The deployment date for the launch of EBRS 2.0 is currently planned for June 24, 2023. 

This update will: 

• Fully integrate the Fetal Death Registration System (FDRS) into EBRS and into the larger ecosystem of the California Integrated Vital Records System (Cal-IVRS) 
• Be a major overhaul of the fetal death certificate to allow for more comprehensive and cleaner collection of fetal death data

Please see the attached document, detailing the changes to EBRS that may have an impact to you, including information on the transition from FDRS to EBRS 2.0.
