AFLP supports expectant and parenting youth in California using the evidence-informed Positive Youth Development (PYD) model. The AFLP PYD model is designed to improve the life course trajectory of expectant and parenting youth and their children through a resiliency-based, youth-led program. AFLP aims to reach youth experiencing the greatest inequities in health and social outcomes.
AFLP is a case management program for expectant and parenting youth aged 21 and under which aims to:
- Increase access to and utilization of needed services.
- Increase social and emotional support and build resiliency.
- Empower youth to cultivate personal autonomy to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.
