Drugs are available that can help people with HIV and AIDS live long and healthy lives. HIV is passed through unsafe sex, contact with blood from a person infected with HIV, and drinking breast milk from a person infected with HIV. A person who has been infected with HIV may also pass it on to a baby during pregnancy or delivery.
