issued a statewide standing order to help reduce morbidity and mortality associated with opioid overdose by facilitating the distribution and administration of Naloxone Hydrochloride (Naloxone) in California.

How to Get Free Naloxoneā
Getting naloxone is a separate process from the standing order. After applying to the standing order, apply to the California to receive free naloxone. Review the FAQs (PDF)ā to learn more.ā
āA standing order is no longer required for NARCANĀ®ānaloxone nasal spray, or other approved over-the-counter naloxone nasal sprays. All other formulations and dosages of naloxone, including intramuscular naloxone, will remain available by prescription only and require a standing order to distribute and admāinister.
