Am I Eligible For An Internship?
Pathways is looking for current students with a keen interest in public health. Applicants should demonstrate flexibility, social and cultural inclusiveness, and a desire to be of service.
DACA and international students are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must āmeet academic requirements:
- Current college student attending a University Enterprises, Inc (UEI) affiliated college (link to list of affiliated colleges (PDF))
- Enrollment in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students and four semester units or six quarter units for graduate students. (Employment Eligibilityā (PDF))
Applicants must also be willing to:
- Work between 15ā29 hours per week.

Work between the hours of approximately 8:00 AM ā 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Work in-person at the local county or city āhealth department.

Complete required evaluation surveys throughout their internship.

Conduct a final presentation of internship experience.

Comply with all local county or city health department host site requirements, including but not limited to background checks, dress code, vaccination requirements, etc.ā
Plāāāease note that all applicants must attend a UEI affiliated college to be eligible for the internship program. There are no exceptions to this requirement. If your school is not currently affiliated with UEI, please contact
CalPPHInternship@cdph.ca.gov to discuss initiating the affiliation process for a future semester.
