SACRAMENTO ā This spring, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) will partner with key community-based organizations throughout the state to increase vaccination for youth ages five and up. From April 11 to June 5, the state will increase its ongoing youth vaccination efforts by pairing vaccination opportunities with fun activities for children and families and meet them where they are.
The nine-week series of events will focus on bringing free vaccinations and vaccine education for children and families into their community. Events will be held at after school programs, libraries, local parks and other recreational areas and involve pediatric medical providers.
Vaccines are free for everyone and are the safest way to protect against the most serious outcomes from COVID-19, including severe illness, hospitalization, death and long COVID.
