Types of Treatment Offered
The California Gambling Education and Treatment Services (CalGETS) program offers confidential, no-cost treatment for individuals affected by problem gambling. Services are delivered by licensed healthcare providers trained in addressing gambling disorders. Clients can select from various treatment options to best suit their needs.āā
Available Treatment Options:
- Telephone Counseling: Ideal for those without nearby outpatient providers or who prefer remote support. Confidential sessions are available at no cost in English, Spanish, and select Asian languages, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM ā 5:00 PM.
- Outpatient Counseling: In-person sessions with authorized CalGETS providers specializing in gambling disorder treatment. Group sessions are also available, comprising 5 to 10 participants and lasting 60-90 minutes.ā
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Designed for clients needing more frequent support, IOP offers three-hour sessions, three times per week. Services are provided by licensed substance use disorder treatment programs experienced in gambling disorder care.
